Lock Fitting & Upvc .

1/2 Day course covering Upvc door locks, upgrading locks, opening & toe & heeling doors correctly. This course is free of charge when booking any course.

1/2 Day course covering lock fitting. Cost £90.00 including teas & coffees (Pm).

Due to requests from previous delegates we have organised this new course to assist in the correct fitting of locks.

This course is 1/2 day in duration and teaches you to fit locks correctly by hand and by jig, fitting, rim locks, deadlocks, sash locks, this course as all the other courses are totally hands on.

This course will give you the confidence to fit any type of lock into any type of door knowing all the pitfalls that can be encountered when fitting locks into wood.

All the tools, locks and safety equipment we supply including overalls if required, if you wish to bring along your own tools to use you are more than welcome to do so. If you have never fitted locks before this course is ideal for you to learn the correct way to fit all the various types of locks available that you will be asked to fit.

We will also discuss the British standards on fitting locks and why the correct locks should be specified by you when quoting or you could become liable, for instance fitting a British Standard deadlock to a rebated door actually removes the British Standard status of the lock. Door closers must now have the correct stamp showing, why you never personally fit a padlock and chain to a set of fire doors although you can supply the padlock and chain to the customer requesting it, never fit deadlocks to a fire exit even if the customer faithfully promises to open the lock each day as you will be liable in the event of an accident. Some are common sense but others are simply a little knowledge is dangerous, this is information you must know when specifying locks for a customer.

Please note we do not cover the fitting of locks or upgrading of locks into Upvc doors on this 1/2 day lock fitting course as all aspects of Upvc doors are covered in full in the morning on the course which is TOTALLY FREE OF CHARGE WHEN BOOKING ANY COURSE. The Upvc course is taken by experts who specialise in this area in their own premises, transport can be arranged if required.

6 pin Euro cylinders with anti drill pins can be purchased in boxes of 10 at £1.49 each on this course. Cylinders sizes are subject to availability on the day.
