2 Day Lock Picking Course

2 day lock picking course covers every type of lock found on domestic and commercial premises from basic cylinders to high security mortise locks including the picking of British Standard locks such as Chubb, Yale, Union, Securefast, ERA  etc.

Two day lock opening course covering every type of lock found on domestic and commercial premises.  This course is designed to give each delegate a substantial base in the locksmith profession. This course is targeted at those delegates who have little or no knowledge of the industry and deals in depth with the acquiring of the varied methods and the techniques of domestic and commercial lock  picking. 

 This course is totally hands on, delegates will be given the opportunity to use virtually every type of lock pick on the course. We only use multimedia slides where necessary for demonstrations.

The course includes the basic lock opening tools as well the company’s own comprehensive lock opening and drill point manual. (The drill point manual is required when a lock has a fault.  

Following on from this course delegates will be offered work from nationwide companies.

 During the course our lectures will be discussing how the Nationwide company’s will be able to offer work and the requirements for this.  Each delegate is provided with a listing of the main wholesalers from which they can obtain further tools and locks at wholesale discounted prices. We also offer a full back up service to all delegates 24 hours a day should they require assistance.

 The course also includes tea/coffee & lunches at the local cafe on all days during the course.

This course is designed for non destructive lock opening and teaches all types of techniques used to open and bypass locks.

Day1    Cylinder locks

We use approximately 500 locks on each training course consisting of virtually every type of cylinder and mortice lock available, all courses are totally hands on, the course starts off by totally stripping and rebuilding a cylinder with a full explanation of how to key-alike & master key a rim cylinder and euro cylinder, why a cylinder is pickable and how to beat the anti-pick pins.

The cylinders you pick start off with  simple cylinders which have no anti-pick pins and lead onto Yale, Union, Legge, Grundman, Weiser, Assa, Mila etc, on day one you also cover picking tubular locks which are found on steering wheels & bike locks etc, wafer locks which are found on garage doors and vending machines we will also teach you how to use jiggler keys.

Day 1 covers the manual picking of virtually every type of pin & wafer lock you are likely to come across and the picks taught are  Mica for slipping locks, Rap keys for Yale, Union, Legge, Gege and Viro, Electric pick guns from Hpc and Vents, Manual pick guns.

The new multi-pick gun which vibrates the pins at 44,000 bounces per minute and Hpc Tubular picks, Padlock shims, the spiking open of padlocks, the use of cylinder snapper for euro-cylinders, the use of the letter box tool and how to attach a wire free covert camera so you don't have a mirror image in the dark.

How to bypass the screw in cylinders normally found in aluminium  doors, we will teach you all the tricks of the trade as we have done for all past delegates. We will teach you to impression cylinder locks. On day one you will also make button hooks which are used to open various mortice locks, wires for opening 3 & 5 lever locks without a curtain, key turners for locks with or without curtains, wires for the opening of locks with curtains such as the Union 5 lever Bs locks.

Day 2

Day 2 covers the opening of Mortice locks from the basic 2 lever leading on to 3 & 5 Lever locks which also includes the picking open of Bs3621 locks such as Chubb, Union, Securefast, Yale etc.

The openings include the use of all the wires made on day 1, the use of the 2 in 1 Hobbs type pick, Overlifters, the curtain wheel pick, the Plasticine impressioning kits, the pin and cam systems to name a few, day 2 also covers the opening of cylinder mortice locks by the use of bypass methods. The locks opened start off with the basic 2 lever with a button hook then onto opening 3 lever Union, 5 lever Guardian, Ellis, Bulldog, etc i.e. virtually every type of mortice lock without a curtain.

You then move onto picking 5 lever locks with a curtain such as Union 5 lever security and 5 lever Bs3621 locks which can all still be opened using 2 wires, in the afternoon we move onto lock identification for anybody only taking the 2 day course which is an important part of the course, if you cannot identify a lock you cannot pick or even know where to drill in the case of a faulty lock, moving on from this we will demonstrate the use of the Bs picks for anybody not doing day 3 of the course which is a day totally hands on with well known locksmiths and manufacturers of these picks, the rest of the course is dedicated on how to use the 2mm drill template kits for the opening of Bs locks. The course closes at 5pm with a questions and answers section.

Day 1        BRIEF DESCRIPTIONS

Stripping and rebuilding a cylinder, how to master key and key alike cylinders.

Why a cylinder is pickable ( We show you the weak points in manufacture).

Picking cylinders with rakes, rap keys including dimple locks, electric pick guns, manual pick guns, individual pin picking & shimming.

The use of the latest electronic frequency pin cylinder pick.

Impressioning cylinders from a blank key. 

How to use mica (credit card) correctly.

The use of the letter box kit. ( also fitted with infra red Cctv and monitor).

Padlock shims & spiking.

Picking open digital locks.

Various cylinder snapping tools for euro cylinders.

Bypass tools for screw in cylinders.

Jiggler keys for wafer locks as found on garage locks, vehicles etc.

Tubular locks. (bikes - vending machines etc).

The methods used to beat anti pick pins in pin cylinder locks.

DAY 2 MORTICE LOCKS

Stripping a lock to show you the weak points and why its pickable

Making picks for 2-3-5 lever mortice locks.

Making wires for particular locks.

How to use 2 & 3 lever jiggler keys correctly, we also have the set of 78 jiggler keys for curtain locks available for use just to show how fast the Bs picks actually open the locks compared with the hit & miss approach with the jigglers.

The use of  Hobbs type lever picks (2 in 1 picks) on 3 & 5 lever locks without curtain. ( This pick is an essential part of any locksmiths tool kit).

Picking 3 lever locks with 2 wires.

Picking 5 lever locks with a curtain with 2 wires.

The use of the 2mm drill template kit ( this kit is last resort).  We make it and can supply it.

How to use the curtain wheel pick correctly on various locks including the Bs3621 locks such as Union Yale Chubb etc.

Lock identification is covered in detail with any delegate only doing these 2 days, as this is the hardest part of the job, you have to be able to identify a lock from the area around the keyhole, all locks have there own id points, this is the only part of the course which needs pen & paper. ( Lock ID manual on CD is also included as part of the course). 

We will show  you how to use all the British Standard picks available on the market, from pin & cam systems to plasticine impressioning, these picks open Chubb, Union, Yale, Ingersol, Era etc, you can  open a British Standard lock in a couple of minutes. There is virtually a pick for every lock on the market and no locksmith needs to drill a lock unless the lock has a fault.

We use around 500 locks on each course consisting of  virtually every  available type of lock.
